Sochan High School Career

When Sochan was residing in England, he played basketball with the Milton Keynes-based MK Trojans as a young player. Later, he moved to Southampton and joined the Itchen College and Solent Kestrels youth teams.

After starting his high school education at La Lumiere School in Indiana, Sochan fled the country as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak.

Sochan Collegiate Career

In July 2020, Sochan decided to play basketball at Baylor University.

Sochan had a sprained ankle during a game against TCU on January 8, 2022, which caused him to miss multiple games. At the end of the season, he earned the Big 12 Sixth Man Award and was chosen to the Big 12 All-Freshman Team.

Sochan has competed at the junior national level for both England and Poland. He helped the Polish under-16 national basketball team win the Division B championship in the 2019 FIBA U16 European Championship in Montenegro. He was named the tournament MVP there.

Sochan played basketball for Poland’s national team. He became the youngest player to play for Poland ever in his debut game at the EuroBasket 2022 qualification, leading Poland past Romania 88–81. He scored eighteen points in his 29 minutes of play, including a game-winning block and a final four-point play (three-pointer plus foul and free throw).
